Wow, how did he miss that? Great win.

Does the announcer keep putting an N in Tagovailoa’s name?

He is saying it right. I noticed it a couple years ago during an Alabama game. Looked up Tua's bio and the phonetic pronunciation is Tung-oh-vi-loa.

I started thinking that after the guy on SportsCenter said it the same way.  I’ve been watching his brother for what, 4 or 5 years, and never picked up on that.

That was redemption at its finest. Well done, Terps. Well done.

Can't imagine Maryland has many wins as 17+ point underdogs

Feel like when they beat Michigan on the road, Michigan wasn’t that good that year. Same with Penn St in 2014 I believe. Had that home opener against Miami one year where they were probably dogs.

I’d say when they finally beat Florida St that had to be a +17 line or more. Maybe one of the Texas wins too.

Very happy how the young Terps bounced back from their poor showing in their season opener!  Hopefully they will build upon this win, and not get too confident.

So they are 3-27 in their last 30 games as a 17+ point dog.
2006 Clemson +18.5
2007 Rutgers +18.5
2018 Texas +19

The first FSU win they were +13

Figured they would have been a 17+ dog in the 2017 game at Texas too.

The thing I liked is how well Taulia and Funk played.  Plus the Oline played well

I didn't think the OL was as bad as they may have looked last week. The offense becoming one-dimensional after falling way behind did not help them. My biggest concern with that unit is lack of depth, though the return of Fontaine will help.

On the flip side, the defense is still mostly awful outside of Chance Campbell. The DL is a sieve and the corners seem to either get beat badly or blow coverages too often...and I know it's only been two games but they've yet to force a single turnover. They got the crucial stops when they had to in the 4th Qtr last night, but they are nowhere near good enough to prevent likely blowouts against the OSUs and PSUs.

Also have to mention Petrino, who I think was the unsung hero last night. That 51 yard FG he nailed was huge (after missing from the same distance at the end of the first half, no less). It's conceivable they still could have come back if he'd missed it, but highly unlikely IMO.

Taulia was the first Terp QB to throw for 300+ yards in a game since 2013 (if you guessed the last to do it was Caleb Rowe, you get a prize). It was the 4th longest drought for that benchmark among FBS schools.

(stat from Patrick Stevens)

UMTerps: Tagovailoa Named Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week

https://umterps.com/...f-the-week.aspx

After completing 26-of-35 passes for 394 yards and accounting for five touchdowns in Maryland's 45-44 overtime win over Minnesota last week, Terrapin quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa has been named the Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

Tagovailoa's 394 passing yards were the 10th most in a single-game in school history and the most since Danny O'Brien passed for 417 yards against N.C. State in 2010. The sophomore added 59 rushing yards, including a 39-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter.

Tagovailoa is Maryland's first Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week since running back Javon Leake earned the honor on Oct. 29, 2018 after scoring four touchdowns in a win over Illinois.
