It's 19-8, as Rutgers is on an 8-0 run.

We're 11 minutes into the game, and MD has 8 points.

Very discouraging start.

Down 11 and only shots that are being taken are contested 3's

Morsell out of the timeout, backs down his defender and scores.

Can someone who understands basketball more than I thought I did explain why Turgeon CONSTANTLY is telling Cowan to slow down when he starts running in transition?

What does a superiorly athletic and talented team have to gain by walking the ball up the court?

I'm so so so lost.

It is what has bothered me for 8 years now.  Maryland is not willing to run on a consistent basis.  The first 10 -12 minutes was horrible offensive basketball.  The last 5 have been better.

I mean I understand if you don't have a better team maybe preferring a certain style...but when you are way more athletic, you need to run, impose your will. If I know that and you know that, how does a guy making 3 million a year not know that?

HALF: Rutgers 35, Maryland 29. Terps shoot 34 percent from the field, including 2-for-16 from beyond the arc. Cowan with a team-high 13, but not getting much help elsewhere. Scarlet Knights guards Geo Baker (9) and Jacob Young (11) doing most of the damage for Rutgers.

Have to come out with a better game plan in the second half. Can't just settle for outside shots, especially when they're contested. With as aggressive as Rutgers is being on defense, I would think a few drives would lead to some easy trips to the line for Maryland. It's amazing this is a six-point game right now. Have to back off the three ball while the game is still close.

MD: 11 of 32, 34% from the floor, including 2 of 16 from 3... 5 of 6 at the line.

Rutgers: 13 of 31, 43.3%, including 4 of 8 from 3... 5 of 8 at the line.
