Yeah, but at least we have a new state of the art practice facility!!!!

Just in time for the other schools to upgrade theirs.

Seriously. Punt football and be awesome at basketball and I can dig it. Like Kansas.

Who gives up more points today? Maryland football or Maryland basketball?

That was not real close.  Although the basketball team tied OSU.

I didn't know such a list existed, but below is a composite ranking of "talent" put together by 24/7.  The list is highly flawed - from what I can tell it doesn't appear to take into account the age/experience of the players, and is based solely on recruiting rankings which we all know are not always reliable.

Still, it's amazing to me that MD comes in at 27th on this list.  Ahead of the likes of Wisconsin, Iowa, Purdue, Minnesota and Indiana.  So for this team to be this unwatchable, either the rankings were wrong on most of these players, or the coaching is terrible, or a combination of the 2.

I think most of that blame has to fall on the coaching staff, they're the ones tasked with actually developing these players. And on gameday, tasked with putting them in the best possible situations to succeed.

On the flip side, over the past 3 years Maryland has had 3 different head coaches, 3 different offensive coordinators, 2 different defensive coordinators, and countless turnover among the other assistant positions. What teams like Wisconsin and Iowa thrive on is consistency. They may not have the best talent in the country, but they have a proven system in place and continuity on their coaching staffs.
