The Scarlet Knights enter this game with a 1-3 (0-2) record. Their lone win came over UMass, with losses to Iowa, Boston College, and Michigan. They were shut out in the games against the Hawkeyes and Wolverines.

 

Rutgers fired both head coach Chris Ash and offensive coordinator John McNulty earlier today. Tight ends coach Nunzio Campanile will be the team's interim head coach and offensive coordinator for the remainder of the season. This is just his second year as a collegiate coach after spending the past 17 years at the high school level in the state of New Jersey.

 

Former Maryland defensive coordinator Andy Buh is in his first season as the Scarlet Knights' defensive coordinator.

It's nice to know that when it feels like MD Football is as bad as it possibly gets, we can still say, "at least we aren't Rutgers."

 

Then again, if the Terps somehow lose this game, it truly is hopeless.

Locksley says that OT Marcus Minor (toe) and CB Marcus Lewis (knee) will be game-time decisions for this game. If Minor can't go, Ellis McKennie would likely slide to RT while Austin Fontaine starts at RG.

Rutgers starting QB Artur Sitkowski has left the team and is expected to transfer. The Scarlet Knights will start Boston College transfer Johnny Langan this weekend. Langan was Campanile's starting quarterback when Bergen Catholic High School won the New Jersey state championship in 2017.
