A lot of defensive playmakers up there for Rex. Scary to think what he will be able to draw up. On the downside, I don't know how you torture yourself constantly with no QB.
But Buffalo was already an excellent defense. They were #2 in DVOA this year.
They need offense and Rex has never been able to do that.
Kind of funny to me that the Falcons want McDaniels and Buffalo got Rex...seems backwards to me.

I couldn't agree more, but Atlanta has poor management. Those Pats rejects don't know what they're doing down there.

If anyone can make a great defense even better it's Rex. Buffalo will be a challenge to beat just because of defense alone.
But they are already that, as GB knows.

I could see them making Jets type runs when they had Sanchez. Not just 8-8 seasons.
But they are already that, as GB knows.

You don't need to hire an offensive head coach to get better on offense. You need to hire a good coordinator and improve the offensive talent, most notably at QB for the Bills.
Rex Ryan obviously disagrees with your sentiment, and instead goes for a RB "upgrade" over Jackson & Spiller (when Spiller isn't dead).

Obviously Buffalo will need a good back with their QB situation, but I'm not sure McCoy is the type of player that fits what Rex wants to do. He's not really a between the tackles sort of guy.

Bills trade for Matt Cassel.
Not a big upgrade over what they have, in fact Orton may still be the better QB if he still wanted to play in the NFL.
That said he's definitely the starter over Manuel.

Harvin to the Bills.
So much for reports that he wanted to go to an explosive offense.

Still the QB concerns... but it's possible that Cassel or Manuel gives near average play. Harvin, Watkins, McCoy... got some skill talent.
