“Orioles 5th rounder Darrell Hernaiz is good-bodied SS, athletic, raw bat speed. Was rumored as early as round 3.”

“#Orioles select SS Darell Hernaiz (Americas HS, El Paso TX). Athletic MIF w/ twitchy frame and sneaky pop in the bat, projects well on both sides of the ball. Young for class, still 17 y/o at time of the draft. His father played in the minor leagues. #MLBDraft #Birdland”

2 17 y/o players so far.
Drafting some athletic, young guys with a lot more growth in their frames still to come. Just never know with guys like that.
Similar to what you do in Intl free agency.

Keith Law saw a Shorebirds game last week, and gave his thoughts on a few players:
The best hitting prospect on the Shorebirds is Darell Hernaiz, their fifth-round pick in 2019 out of Puerto Rico; he’s repeating Low A, but he’s still just 20 and already has almost as many homers this year (5) as he did in 410 plate appearances last year (6), with some evident wrist strength for average power. He’s got a chance to be a utility infielder.
