Can someone shed some light on what is going on at Mervo? Their game against Taft was cancelled for some reason and this after not finishing their Dunbar game and being under investigation for their game against William Penn.

If I am not mistaken you have to play at least 9 games to be eligible for the playoffs. This would mean Mervo is out. Unless they finish the Dunbar game which I am not sure can actually happen.

The word on the street is that Taft HS refused to travel to Baltimore this weekend due to the city’s notoriously high violent crime rate. Taft also wanted Mervo to travel to Ohio for the second year in a row but Mervo officials refused. For those who have brought up Mervo’s issues in Delaware earlier this season and the issues outside the stadium against Dunbar, this should quash the narrative that Mervo is a rogue program. Taft’s decision had nothing to do with the Mustangs football program.

That seems fair fetched. Taft had this schedule for a few months and they now decided that Baltimore was too dangerous? Im sure the reports of the Dunbar game didn't help, which is also why the pervious 2 incidents cannot be ignored.

Either way Mervo gets a gift win in a game they were probably going to lose.

This would be accurate

The extracurricular stuff that happened during the Mervo-Dunbar had nothing to do with the teams and fans inside the stadium. You are full of s**t to say otherwise. As I stated in another post, there are three sides to every story of the incident in Delaware., William Penn’s side, Mervo’s side and the truth, Are you naive enough to think that word of the the postponement of the Dunbar-Mervo game made it all the way to Cincinnati? If it did, it was a ludicrous excuse to forfeit the game. Cincinnati has a poor record of violent crime also and Mervo still travelled to Ohio last year to play.

Here is the real. Stop trying to find things wrong with the Mervo program, Item 1. The Dunbar game will be finished. The crowd inside the game was fine. The game should have went on because there was not a riot outside, they just didn't move for EMS. There was no shooting nor was a gun found. There were fights and those that students did not attend Mervo. 2. Taft. They tried to get out of the game this summer and we even suggested that we come back to them and they said they would make the trip. They called on Wednesday to cancel the game. The Delaware situation was not initiated by Mervo. Tell that to the streets. Lastly, Taft would have not beat Mervo this year and shouldn't have beaten them last year. GDEF, now you know.

Poor leadership

How is Taft canceling, and City Police stopping a game for something happening outside a leadership issue?

Again seems weird the coach and athletic director from this school would schedule this home and home last year with Mervo when there is a cut and dry rule about travel restrictions.

At this point does not really matter. Poor planning on Tafts part is no longer Mervos problem.

Reading comprehension should be fundamental. For example: “Here is the OHSAA rule for out-of-state travel for football in 2018-19.” The quote was in the story and implied that this is new rule for the 2018-19 school year. That’s why Taft would schedule the game over a year ago and then have to cancel it. It’s not rocket science. Taft’s decision to cancel wasn’t a problem for Mervo until you made it one.

The article it just says the rule for 18-19. Does not say it's a new rule, so don't assume its new. If in fact it is a new rule, new rules are passed well before the season starts and AGAIN the Taft AD and coach should have caught this and cancelled the game a while ago so both teams could find another opponent. Not Mervo's fault for Tafts mistake.

Your take was still wrong. There’s nothing going on at Mervo.
