I'm not one to get worked up usually over in game stuff.... but I did have a few questions today...

That said, Canada gets a lot of credit for helping to keep MD focused and prepared to play today. That can't be disregarded.

And he does have a very good Coordinator resume.  That's what he was hired to do.  

Have to give him some leeway understanding all the adjustments he is having to make as the interim.  

One example, today was the first time he ever coached on the field.

Its just a shame Durkin and this program is getting railroaded. They were the verge of being an upper mid tier B10 program.

The broadcasts showed that Mariota was the last freshman to throw, catch, and run for a TD.  I want more.  Has any freshman, especially true freshman, ever done that in their first game?

Couldn't really ask for a much better start.  Kasim Hill looked composed and poised and threw the ball well.  Not always the prettiest of spirals but they got where they needed to be.

 

Would've like to see a more consistent pass rush, but the secondary must have been doing a great job because Ehlinger had lots of opportunities to throw and couldn't find anyone.

 

All things considered, that was a really impressive win.  I think Texas is going to end up being pretty good this year.
