I loved jury duty.
I realize I"m in the minority on this one.

I got called once in Georgia... was looking forward to see what it was like... but before they could ask any questions to see who to take, the defence attorney dropped dead, right there in the courtroom... so that was the end of that for me...
Then recently I got called to serve in federal court in Mobile... but that got postponed before the day came because one of the lawyers had a heart attack... so I got dismissed from that one too...
So, I'm either 0-for-2 or 2-for-2 depending on how you look at it...

I would actually love to be in a jury for a really good case.

My old boss was the forewoman on a large case and she said it was fantastic. She was gone, off and on, about 4 months.

That was just a single case and not a grand jury? Grand juries last that long, with intermittent time demands... but I never heard of a single case doing that.... (which doesn't mean anything... I don't really know anything about this kind of stuff....)

Grand Jury I believe.

In some ways,I think that would be more interesting than most individual cases would be.... you hear the D.A. press for indictments on all kinds of cases.... so you'd hear way more stuff.... the weakness of the experience would be that you don't get to hear any arguments from the D.... so, as they say, a D.A. could get an indictment for a canned ham if he wanted to...
EDIT: it should be "ham sandwich", not "canned ham".... "canned him" is what got Letterman fired from his weatherman job in Indianapolis... during a hailstorm he reported "hail stones the size of canned hams"... they fired him right away...

I've never fractured or broken a bone.
I've sprained ankles and knees, dropped things on my feet, but I've never actually had something crack in there.
Of course, now I'll go out tonight and get hit by a trolley...

It was not soothing when the surgeons at UMBC were chatting about the Colts game as they put me under...

98 Rock asked their audience this morning for examples of basic things they've never done...
Some of the examples were:
- Doing a load of wash...
- Eating a salad...
- Making a PB&J sandwich...
Have any weird ones?
