If the Harrison Bros go to UMD, it is awesome two-fold. First, Maryland is truly back to being a hoops powerhouse. Second, they'd be out of the running for Peters, and Xavier desperately needs some recruits for 2013.

Absolutely. I grew up a Terps fan, though my only real affiliation with the school is that 3 of my cousins go/went there and a lot of my friends currently are there.

The past few years I haven't paid as much attention to them (me being out here, and --you can call me a fairweather fan here-- because the Terps just haven't been good). But now that Turgeon is getting the team back on track (and adding Dez), I'll definitely watch as many games as I can from here on out.

I have only once rooted for Maryland against Xavier. Granted, it was in 2003 when I hadn't even heard of the school...but still, I find that a funny story. It was the second round game after Nicholas hit the buzzer-beater to beat UNCW. Then the six-seeded Terps upset David West and the three-seeded Musketeers.

Who knows, though. Truth be told, I've been over this story for the better part of a year now. I'll be excited if we get them, but won't be crushed if we don't.

That's exactly how I feel. I think them announcing now is great, though. If they come to MD, perfect. If not, plenty of time to focus on other options. It should be interesting.

The MD basketball cynic in me says the positive vibes that it's MD is to make picking UK more of a surprise. Sorry, that is just what following MD basketball recruiting over the last decade has done to me. Even if they anounce MD I 'll be concerned until they sign their LOI.
