Nets back to a game under .500.  Kind of an achievement after the way they started. They would be a bit more interesting if they hadn't lost Lopez to injury.

They are clearly the 3rd most dangerous team in the East IMO once playoffs come around. Thornton could be a nice little X factor. Don't think they have the firepower offensively to take down Miami or Indiana but if they get the 3 seed I could see them getting to 2nd round and taking Indiana to 6 games.

You're right...would be much more interesting with Lopez.

Now 1.5 GB of Toronto in the Atlantic. Also 1GB of Chicago for 4th in the East.

Brooklyn has won 18 of its last 20 at home and improved to 29-10 since Jan. 1, tops in the East.

I don't remember which thread I said it, but I stand by the claim I made back at end of January that the Nets will finish the season and enter the playoffs as the 3 seed. They have a pretty easy April coming up so it'll be theirs for the taking. Also people say that the playoffs will be meaningless in the east until the finals but the Nets are 3-0 against Miami this season. That has to count for something right?

ESPNNets to face Kings in China

The Nets will face the Kings on Oct. 12 in Shanghai and on Oct. 15 in Beijing as part of the NBA Global Games 2014.

There will also be other NBA preseason games overseas.

The San Antonio Spurs will play two Euroleague Basketball teams. San Antonio faces eight-time German champion Alba Berlin in Berlin on Oct. 8 and five-time Turkish champ Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul in Istanbul on Oct. 11.

The Cavaliers will face the Heat on Oct. 11 in Rio de Janeiro.

The NBA will later announce regular-season international games for 2014-15 as part of its efforts to promote the league around the world.

Yahoo SportsSources: Mikhail Prokhorov listening to offers for Nets

After the Sterling Family Trust sold the Clippers for $2 billion to Steve Ballmer, Prokhorov and his associates believe the combination of the Nets and Barclays Center major market location could net in the neighborhood of the Clippers sale, sources said. Less than five years ago, Prokhorov bought the Nets and a percentage of Barclays Center for $223 million.

Prokhorov owns 80 percent of the Nets and 45 percent of the Barclays. Beginning in the 2015-16 season, the NHL's New York Islanders also will move into the arena.

The Nets lost $144 million dollars this season. $144 million. The Wizards lost the second-most money: $13 million.

Nets are making Brook Lopez, Deron Williams and Joe Johnson available.

Lopez would be an awesome fit for the Wizards I think.  Wonder what the cost would be.

What could the Wizards offer? I'm not seeing much to entice the Nets that they'd realistically trade.

You can always offer draft picks.

Sure, but they likely won't be good picks for the Nets.

Simmons repeated this line a bunch of times: The Celtics have their unprotected first-round picks in 2016 and 2018 and can swap first-rounders with them in 2017.

Report: Mikhail Prokhorov Is Trying To Sell The Nets

To recap: Prokhorov bought the Nets for $220 million, ran the organization poorly, and is now in line to dump his ownership stake for somewhere around $2 billion. It's going to be hilarious when NBA owners try to convince us that owning an NBA team isn't a great racket during the next round of CBA negotiations.

Given the current state of things in Russia, if Prokhorov can net $2 billion in a sale, he'll be one of few people over there that can afford toilet paper.

He's already one of those guys.
