Some of the older players cut, are questionable.

James Worthy jumps off at me.  He IMO, is better than some added.

Pistol Pete is another.

From a biased stand point, Wes Unseld is another.   For my money,  inch for inch the best rebounder I have ever seen.    Undoubtedly in my  mind, the best out let guy, who has ever played.

I can see reasons for all the additions, but list like this are always slanted to the,  theory, that today is always better than yesterday.

James is not even close to being worthy IMO. Neither is Pistol Pete whose legend status seems to relate more to his showmanship than how good he actually was.

Reggie Miller is a poor addition IMO.

If Drexler spent his career in New York vs. Portland, is he on the list?

Get Scottie Pippen's ass out of there.

I don't think so. He shouldn't be IMO.

This is dumb. One of the best 2 way players ever.

Is it primarily the 3pt % that keeps him down? How was he regarded defensively?

That doesn't help, but he just wasn't a dominant player IMO. He wasn't a dominant or especially efficient scorer, he was a good passer yet nothing remarkable, he never made an all-defense team, made the all-NBA team a respectable 5 times (1st once, 2nd twice, 3rd twice), and was only once a serious MVP candidate.

115th all time in PER -- 16 PPG.  Would anyone call him a "great" offensive player?  Or even "very very good"?

Elite defensively, won titles because of his situation.

Not a top 50 player ever.

Not close.

In his prime he was a very very good offensive player as a semi-point forward that would put up a 20+ PER. He was also an excellent rebounder for his position. But offense is certainly not the primary reason for his appearance on a list like this and I do agree that situation helped his legacy, but that's kind of the case for most of the guys listed.

The main reason why he was so good is that he's possibly the best perimeter defender ever.

First team All-NBA 3 times, second twice, and third twice.

And he was easily the best player on a legit title contender that got screwed in the playoffs by the refs, and he was also a legit MVP contender that year.

Using my top 25 players of the past 25 years series, I think the biggest snub, at least from that list, is Chris Paul.

http://baltimorespor...-25-years-6-10/

Curry should also be on the list IMO.

Probably Payton and McGrady too.

I'd leave off Pierce for sure and Iverson would be a close call.

Westbrook is also in the discussion.

So you think Scottie Pippen was a better basketball player than Iverson and Russell Westbrook?

Yes to Iverson for reasons mentioned in the article.

Russ still has a lot of career left, which is the main reason why he's probably borderline (I'd have to delve further into the list to determine what is borderline).
