I'm sure Marc Maron will repost the podcast interview he did with him soon. Everyone should check it out when he does. Great stories.

Before Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, his band was called "Mudcrutch." I think thats a pretty fun name for a band.

Everyone liked Tom Petty.

Got to see him three times (once with Bob Dylan).

RIP

Whoa, what?

http://www.independe...s-a7979696.html

Yet later tweets from CBS and the LAPD claim that the department has “no information about the passing of singer Tom Petty” and any information has been “inadvertently provided”, with both apologisng.

CBS News' report currently cites TMZ as saying that Petty is still "clinging to life" at a local hospital.

Please be okay

Thats a song Tom Petty wrote. Jimmy Iovine stole it from Petty and gave it to Nicks because he was bedding her at the time

I remember they touched on it in the documentary that HBO did, The Defiant Ones. Who hasn't Stevie Nicks slept with, am I right? :)

Pretty sure all the members of Fleetwood Mac were married to each other at some point.

That documentary is an all-timer.

Stevie definitely got around.

I'm just about giving Petty every last inch of his due. He was a treasure

After listening and thinking about this for the past couple of days,  I think I'm going to go on record and say my favorite Tom Petty song is "Learning to Fly"

This acoustic version with Nicks is great!

On a related note, next year Fleetwood Mac is doing a farewell tour.  I've been trying to see them in concert for years and haven't been able to, gotta make sure I see them when they come around.
