Pigrome looks like he could break one everytime he touches the ball.

Millen right, everything to close to the line of scrimmage... need to pull defenders out.

Would like a replay there... was that 3rd and 8 in the dirt?

Big plays keeping this close. But defense is gonna piss it away because of ineffective coaching. They're running the same two or three plays. Figure it out.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

This is disappointing, but not disheartening. If we're seeing games like this in Year 3 of the Durkin Era, then I'll be disheartened. I think it's at least a good reminder and gauge for the fans that this team is much closer to the 3-9 team of last season than a team on the verge of the Top 25, like they were coming in to the day. And for the players and coaches, it's a reminder of how much more work they have to do.

Well. Guess we're fake.
Eh, offense was ok until hills got hurt. Defense and ST both made big plays. Coaching just didn't have an answer for the zone read or McSorley's scrambling.
Frustrating that something as common as the zone read would cause our coaches to do an Edsall impression, but until that becomes a trend I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Just got back from State College. Long day, will have some more thoughts up soon. Great trip, had a ton of fun. Beaver Stadium is a great place to watch a game (even from the nosebleeds), and their student section is CRAZY. Just a really cool atmosphere all around.
Game-wise, it's a rough one. Disappointing, but not the end of the world. I will say this: I certainly hope Hills is ready to go next week, because I think this game shows you what happens when you have to rely on Piggy for more than a few plays. His lack of passing abilities were exposed, Penn State was loading the box, and he failed to make them respect him with his arm. Hills isn't the best passer, but the defense at least has to respect the threat of the pass. Also not sure if those sacks were an offensive line issue or a protection call that Hills needed to make, will have to re-watch that.
Defensively, it was all about poor tackling and execution. They seemed to be in the right place most of the time, but when you're missing 2-3 tackles on every play, it's not going to end well. Defensive backs have to learn to look back to the ball as well, that really hurt them a few times.
