While the Browns (probably) won't screw up the No. 1 pick by taking Mitchell Trubisky, the run on quarterbacks could begin earlier than originally anticipated. That could benefit a team like the Ravens, who could see a blue-chip prospect like Corey Davis or Marlon Humphrey fall to No. 16. Given Baltimore's needs, that's a great situation for the front office.

Kudos to the Browns for not overthinking the No. 1 pick:

Drafting Garrett makes the most sense for any team holding the top pick, but the Jimmy Haslam factor looms large:

Got the draft in one ear from the computer and the Caps in the other.  Good night for sports (assuming the Caps don't play like crap).

I don't like criticizing GMs as I truly feel they know more than me ... but wtf are the Bears doing?

Fear of the Browns jumping back up?  I get the idea of going and getting the guy (QB) you believe in...  I'm luke warm on Trubisky. Seems awfully raw. They must love the ceiling.

Raiders gotta be the team going for Mixon, too, right?  Does he make it to #56?

Not a bad strategy.  Take POS players with tons of baggage (Conley's case could certainly be nothing at all, so it's a conclusion-jump to align him with Mixon) but who cares about your public relations when you are actively shitting all over your public by leaving.  By the time they get to Vegas, these guys will either have multiple years of excellent performance and good behavior under their belts and all will be forgotten or they'll screw up again and get released.

I love analyzing trades and talking about the value chart.  Here are the deals from last night.  For future picks I'm listing the value of a mid-round pick one round later this year (so current 2nd if the trade is a 1st), the value of a mid-round pick the same round this year (so current 1st if the trade is a 1st), and the average of those two.  The sum total points is based on the average, but it's likely each team values these slightly differently and depending on which team's future pick they are acquiring.

49ers and Bears:

49ers trade #2 (2600) = 2600

Bears trade #3 (2200), #67 (255), #111 (72), 2018 3rd (70/190/130) = 2657

Bills and Chiefs:

Bills trade #10 (1300) = 1300

Chiefs trade #27 (680), #91 (136), 2018 1st (420/1000/710) = 1526

Browns and Texans:

Browns trade #12 (1200) = 1200

Texans trade #25 (720), 2018 1st (420/1000/710) = 1430

Seahawks and Falcons:

Seahawks trade #26 (700) = 700

Falcons trade #31 (600), #95 (120), #249 (1) = 721

Packers and Browns:

Packers trade #29 (640) = 640

Browns trade #33 (580), #108 (78) = 658

Seahawks and 49ers:

Seahawks trade #31 (600) = 600

49ers trade #34 (560), #111 (72) = 632

I don't get the criticism of the Browns. If Trubisky was their guy and he apparently was there was nothing they could do in these critics minds. If they had taken him #1 the same people bashing them for passing on a QB would be bashing them for taking Trubisky over Garrett. They obviously tried to get back in to draft him. That's why the 49ers got the haul for trading down 1 spot

I don't think it'd be the same people, but there would be people bashing them no matter what they did.  That's the nature of the beast, lots of opinions, so some people will hate whatever you decide to do.

When Reggie McKenzie was in Green Bay, he adhered to the athletic thresholds for running backs (and other positions). Mixon meets those thresholds, so very possible McKenzie has him on their board in Oakland.

Raiders gotta be the team going for Mixon, too, right?  Does he make it to #56?
