Weaver, Wilson, Grienke, Haren...they are built for the WS.

No doubt, I would take them in a 7 game series over the Yankees right now. Rangers are close and I expect the Rangers to make another pitching move to replace Lewis.


BTW...keeping Greinke away from the Rangers was also big for the Angels here because clearly they were in on him as well. IMO. it makes that AL West race the most exciting in all of baseball.

I'm not really sure that they had to pay as high as they did. If they are able to extend him, it makes this better, and if they win this year, it of course erases it all, but they paid more than they had to, IMO. At the end of the day, they've got a great shot to win it all this year, so these are the moves you make. Tough to really criticize it.

A lot of teams were after Greinke, including Texas. I don't think they gave up much personally.
