O's needed that win and they split the series. They now head to Cleveland.

This is more of just my thoughts after the game:

The Good:

1. Besides a rough 1st and 4th inning, Chen pitched a good game. He went 7 IP, allowed 3 runs, and struck out five. That's back to back solid starts by Hunter and Chen. They needed to do that as the bullpen had been used a lot since the All Star Break.

2. Davis hit a moon shot to right field to give the O's two runs. It went into the Target Field RF concourse. Not sure I'd seen that before.

3. Reynolds had a bloop single to get 2 RBIs and eventually gave the O's a W. Reynolds had a good series at Target Field. Hopefully he can continue it in Cleveland.

4. Strop came on with 2 men on in the 8th. I was worried because he's known to have control issues, but he was able to get out of the inning rather easily.

5. Johnson got his 28th save of the season.

The Bad:

6. Though the Twins didn't score off of it, Chris Davis just flat-out dropped a ball in LF.

7. Swarzak struck out the side in the top of the 9th.

8. In the 1st, Betemit couldn't hold on to Wieters' throw to try and throw out a Twins player at 3rd. He eventually scored.

9. O'Day faced one batter and walked him. He hasn't been impressive lately. Probably just a sign that he over-performed in the beginning of the season.

The Ugly:

None.

Time to take the series at Jacobs. They haven't won one since they were in Seattle.

I'd almost say that #6 would be "ugly", but I didn't watch the game, I was only able to listen to it, so I'll yield to those who saw it.

Either way, nice to earn the split after Tillman and Britton's starts in game's 1 & 2. Nice bounce back from Hunter and Chen.

It was great to see the bats come through, even though Reynolds hit was a blooper, it counts nevertheless.

I guess it was "ugly" (certainly ugly to see....though it was so weird I was actually just laughing), but I put it in the "Bad" category because it didn't really affect the game. Chen was able to get two ground outs after it and end the 7th.

Certainly wanted to win the series, but after the way it started, happy with the split.

2 wins in a row, 2 very solid starts, a little offense..maybe get a little momentum back?

Sadly, it isn;t the first time Davis flat out dropped a ball in the OF. Twice now it hasn't hurt us in anyway. Like with the rest of our poor defense, it's only a matter of time before he does it again and it costs us.
