DJ Durkin was spotted at Patriots practice this afternoon, according to ESPN's Diana Russini.

The Terps have the smallest video board in the conference. Just one of the many things that need upgrading in the stadium.

I know the Cole building is the priority, and the reasons why are valid. But they really need to do a lot of work on the stadium, both to improve the fan experience and raise revenues. And I really hope they will find a better name for it soon.

Tear down Tyson Tower and use the facade of Cole as the board.

What are they going to do with Gossett TH once Cole is finished, other than the visitor's locker room? Seems like they could do things with that area/building to improve the fan experience.

I've always thought that what Mississippi State did to their endzone would work well at Maryland. You may have to re-work the facade of Gossett a bit, but just stick a big-ass LED screen on top. That one below is 112' x 48', which would be the most similar to the one inside Ohio Stadium. As someone who has seen that one up close and personal, it's REALLY nice. And of course, along with that they desperately need a new sound system.
I also feel like what Mississippi State did to their other endzone could work at Maryland to close it off a little better, and add a bigger screen as well. And you'd just move the student section in there, surrounding the band.

In advance of the B1G Media Days next week, the Terps have released their Preseason Notes. As was the case last season, they don't contain a depth chart. We most likely won't see Durkin's first official depth chart until the week of the Texas game.

Good news for those of you like me who are cord-cutters, or thinking about it. Jim Delaney announced today that the Big Ten Network will be available on the Hulu and YouTubeTV live TV packages. The network is already available on DirecTV Now and Playstation VUE. Also some games will be available on Fox Sports Go.

The team has updated its roster with numbers for the freshmen in anticipation of camp beginning this week, for anyone interested: http://www.umterps.c...13&SPSID=716328
Caleb Henderson switches to #8, as does Kingsley Opara. Gotta love a nose tackle with a single-digit number. Lorenzo Harrison switched to #2, and plenty of other guys switched their numbers around as well.

Baltimore Sun: DJ Durkin's battle to win Maryland fans back might be his bigger recruiting challenge
MD fans are definitely fickle. But like the article says, they've backed winners before and they'll back a winner again, even for football. It wasn't until the final home game of Friedgen's first season that they finally sold out a game against Clemson, with the ACC title on the line.
The recruiting classes are great, and Durkin is a likable, energetic and promising coach. Those things help, but MD fans show up or stay home based on what they see on the field and on the scoreboard, and the results aren't there yet. Be a consistent winning team that is competitive against the top-tier competition (and win some of those games), and they can definitely fill a 54,000 seat stadium for the bigger games, and get a respectable (for MD) draw for the lightweights.

Any news here?
What caused the suspension, does it look like it will be lifted?
He was a big get... not a great way to start the career, hopefully doesn't end with him leaving (I guess depending on the transgression).
