Really need to get this win. Iowa's pressure defense worries me a lot given our propensity for careless turnovers even when the defense isn't aggressive.

That's a good point. I just wonder how much Iowa looks to pressure with Trimble and Sulaimon being there. Purdue had no such ball-handlers, which made them ripe to be pressured.

Trimble and especially Sulaimon are both prone to careless turnovers. Sulaimon recently has been playing out of control far too much, he really needs to rein that in.

Maryland to #8 in the new poll. Really thought they'd drop more.
It wasn't a bad loss at all on paper so that's not too surprising. Most of the voters obviously didn't see the game and realize that Maryland lost despite MSU playing rather poorly, which certainly makes it far more frustrating of a loss from our perspective.

Well the fact is they barely escaped Northwestern at home and then didn't show up at Michigan St. Just not a good week. Took a clear step back in my eyes at least.

Iowa is good, but I think Maryland gets them Thursday night. Like MSU was on Saturday, Md will or should be the pissed of team Thursday night.
The Terps silence some of the critics and get a close one over a good Iowa team. Be loud, Terp fans. The building helped the Spartans, needs to play in the Terp favor on Thursday.

Will be big that the students are back for this one. Crowd has been a bit subdued, between the semester being out, and the games either being such a blowout that it was over instantly or incredibly frustrating slogs.
Beating Iowa will go a long ways towards restoring any faith that was lost in the past week.

Just a friendly reminder that the 2001 team lost at home to Florida State.
There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

They also beat 5 ranked teams in the reg season that year including a road win over #2 Duke and home win over #7 UVA. The current team needs to find some quality wins, let alone a significant win.
Iowa is huge in that regard.
While they lack statement wins, they do have some quality wins... Georgetown, UConn, Princeton, Wisconsin, Ohio State all RPI Top 100.
After Iowa, Purdue is 25th, Wisconsin, Michigan 31st, @Purdue, @Indiana 40th all remain.
Via KenPom:
Iowa 2nd
Purdue 10th
Indiana 19th
UConn 30th
Georgetown 51st
Wisconsin 61st
NW 80th
Princeton 94th

Currently 17-3, 6-2...
Remaining prior to BTT:
Iowa
@OSU
@Nebraska
Purdue
Bowie State (D2, not an exhibition, but doesn't count to record I believe)
Wisconsin
@Minnesota
Michigan
@Purdue
Illinois
@Indiana
What's the final record heading into the BTT?

Jarrod Uthoff was asked about the challenges of playing in a new arena (Maryland's). He responded, "There are none."

I was at the Northwestern game and it was very quiet until the end.
I expect a good game against Iowa. and think they will get the win. I am not one of the fan who find fault with every win they have, but this is an important win to gain some momentum.
