Maryland falls to North Carolina 13-7. Tar Heels win their 2nd National Championship. Disappointing loss for a Terps team that was called the most talented in the history of the sport. The last 4 Women's Lacrosse National Championships have gone to either North Carolina or Maryland. Still an excellent season for the Terps, with this being their first loss. It just wasn't their year, let's see if it's the men's.

 

The wait now begins to see if Taylor Cummings can take home the Tewaaraton Award for a record third-straight time.

Gulls did their best to try and give this one away but they hold on for the W! Lead 12-4 before allowing Tufts to score 7 straight. Keeper comes up huge with a point blanksave with 5 seconds left for the 14-13 win.

All along we've been hearing about the Terps depth, this is where it should pay off.  After a cool spring things finally turned hot this weekend, after a warm muggy day on Saturday we've got another hot one out there today.  Maryland's superior depth should help pay dividends, especially in the second half.  Something else that should help is that a few different times this year Tillmann worked the schedule so that they were playing 2 games in 3 or 4 days to help get them ready for championship weekend.   Terps have been playing great all year and our certainly the better team,  I'm liking their chances to break their title drought.

Nice back and forth game so far. UNC started the game the way they've played the past few, like the hottest team in the tournament.

It's certainly not gonna be a cakewalk for Maryland, but I agree with Duffman, this is where their depth is such an asset. Two high level games in 3 days, in the heat. Probably start to see the effects closer to the 4th.

Great game. The pace is awesome, definitely an entertaining style of lacrosse being played in this one.
