My votes. The fact that these bands still aren't in is criminal.

I know music is subjective, but it sounds like you'll put just anyone in. I feel like the Rock HOF feels the same way.

On a seperate note, while NWA deserves to be in a HOF, how are they rock and roll? I mean, lets out Led Zeppelin in the Hip hop HOF, and Michael Jordan in the baseball HOF while were at it.

The fact that Yes isn't in there yet is insane. And the fact that it took until last year for Rush to get in is crazy.

What is so special about Yes that everyone wants them in the hall? Do they have a ton of platinum albums I dont know about?

They had 3 albums that hit the Top 10: Fragile, Close to the Edge, and Going for the One. Not to mention that tracks like Roundabout, Long Distance Runaround, and and Owner of a Lonely Heart were hits.

Only reason they're not in is because of their "progressive rock" label.

I agree with your first point. The HOF seems very watered down.

No problem with non traditional rock n roll bands being in the HOF though. They've made it pretty clear that the name isn't meant to restrict the HOF to purely rock bands, so whatever.

And because besides those 3 songs, they are mostly forgotten.

Yes making the HOF is like Mike Bordick or Rich Dauer being in the O's HOF.

"And You and I" is a top 10 all time song for me.

I'm admittedly in the minority on this one, but I'm not a huge fan of Rush. Don't dislike them, but I never really understood the fascination, though Neil Peart is ridiculously talented.

I think the problem is that music is a lot more subjective than sports. So obviously you must like Yes a lot so therefore you say it's insane that they aren't in. However, I'd argue that a band's legacy, while still very subjective, is much more objective compared to taste in music. So in that sense, it's more like a sports HOF, and saying Yes not being in the HOF is insane would be like me saying some borderline player (at best) not being in the HOF is insane just because I'm a big fan.

One of the pioneers of the progressive rock movement. Had a very distinctive sound. And they made good music.

Cool.

But if they're a no brainer, they better start constructing some new wings to that building.
