Well San Jose is still alive thanks to Martin Jones. He really saved their bacon(shark meat?) last night. Missed the flurry of goals at the outset, but I watched a good part of the game and it seemed like Pitt had possession the whole time I was watching. Jones came through with some clutch saves. Sharks will have to play better if they want to force a game 7.

My diehard Pens fan friend passed up a $3,500 profit yesterday to go to Game 5. He is praying he doesn't have to face that decision again (if there's a game 7.)

I didn't even bother last night. I figured when the Kings and Hawks were done, the winner of Caps/Pens was winning it all. So anti-climactic in an otherwise exciting postseason all around.
Stupid Pittsburgh. That series had no luster about it. Probably the last matchup the NHL wanted to see.

Yawn. It's hockey. Who gives a damn at the end of the day. Hard to believe they even shut down the streets for a Stanley Cup parade. Or that they capitalize Stanley Cup for that matter.

You're just saying that to cope/deal with the fact that the Pens won. I'm just ignoring all NHL coverage for a while myself.
The CUP is the most storied/famous trophy out of all 4 major sports! I mean you get to booze out of that thing, it doesn't get any better than that!
Having said that, it does suck that the Pens won. Bah

Pretty good read on Eric Lindross, who was just nominated to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Damn, the Habs traded PK Subban to the Preds straight up for Shea Webber!

The Oilers sent former No. 1 overall pick Taylor Hall to New Jersey in exchange for 23-year-old Adam Larsson, the fourth overall pick of the 2011 draft.

GM is once again GMGM as he took the job for the expansion team in Vegas. Curious to see who if anyone he takes from the Caps in next Summer's expansion draft.
I will be surprised if Ross Mahoney isn't with Vegas next season. GMGM has already asked permission to talk to him. Hopefully the Caps and Vegas can reach a handshake agreement where they can have Mahoney if they take Orpik in the expansion draft.

Early on, looks like the usual suspects will contend for the Stanley Cup. Stars, Penguins, Lightning, Predators, Capitals. Maybe the Panthers sneak in there.
Far too early Stanley Cup prediction that I might laugh at if I look at this 365 days from now: Predators vs. Capitals. Caps in 6. Give me Holtby over Rinne all day.

Flyers and Brayden Schenn avoid arbitration with four-year deal with $5.15 million cap hit. Had career year last season with career high 59 points, 26 goals, and 33 assists. Will be interesting to see if he can sustain his 14.6% shooting percentage.

Going to try my best to revive this forum yet again. What does everyone think is the best free agent deal signed this offseason, outside of the obvious answer of Brian Campbell to the Blackhawks?
I've got to go with Kyle Okposo. Probably the best of all the big money deals. Did well apart from John Tavares this year and he'll likely be playing with Jack Eichel. Love that move for the Sabres. Really like the value of Dan Hamhuis to the Stars as well. Teddy Purcell could be a great value for the Kings this season.

Ranking of the owners by theScore. Pretty accurate. Ted Leonsis ranks sixth. Ilitch at number one is a stretch.
