I still am.  Meh.  Sorkin really seems to be stepping it up with the self-plagiarization this season.

The old, wise leader of the team had a sudden, major medical emergency?

No!

I'm gonna finish watching it, because why not at this point, but this is my least favorite show of Sorkin's I've watched.  I loved West Wing and Sports Night (never saw Studio 60), Newsroom has been disappointing to me.

I didn't believe Grantland when they said in their pre-season review that this final season would be about how much Aaron Sorkin hated social media and thought it was a plague on society. I've loved it up until this season. I still think it's good, just... Twitter has its merits and Buzzfeed occasionally has awesome posts (link if you don't believe me) and TMZ breaks important news stories too. Maybe it's the generational gap speaking, but I think that most people have something important to share, though I'd never consider most of it actual news.

A six episode season to end the series? Why did they even bother?

Until this last episode where Don takes his stand and Sloan rips that Gawker guy apart on live TV, the rest of the season has been boring.

I'm most disappointed because Will's character is so bad ass, and he nailed it in the first season. His monologue in the first five minutes of the first show had me hooked.  He was still great in the second season despite the fact that I hated that they drug out the hoax story for...ev...er. This season they took the best part of this show and secluded him from the news desk for just about all of the short final season. Just a terrible decision.

It can be done well.  Treme only had 5 episodes in it's final season and it was fantastic, Boardwalk Empire's final season was shortened and still was quite good.  A short coda is better than getting canceled without a chance to wrap things up.

For this season, my favorite part was the first episode where Maggie had to fill in the Elliot and nailed it.  Everything about that was great, it was nice to see Maggie excel at her job in ways that surprised even her, Elliot's reaction after she finished the segment was awesome, and the whole little thing was a great blend of story, heart, and humor.  But they've more or less dropped that.  Maggie showed her continued improvement with the ethics thing with the guy from the EPA, but other than that, she's back to just being someone for Jim to pine over.

Was I the only, dirty-minded one, who thought last episode when on the plane when Maggie went to go get Jim, that she wasn't taking them back to their seat but say, oh, I dunno, to the bathroom for a little mile-high club fun?

Talk about being bummed out.

Yeah, I thought that too.  Would have been funny if Maggie went back to her seat and Jim went to the bathroom and just waited.  A little cliche, perhaps, but I would've laughed.

I haven't watched any episodes of this season. I really soured on it in season 2, but I loved season 1.

Final a little too sappy, and predictable.

Enjoyed the series as a whole though.

For a show about doing THE NEWS and had its best moments when it did THE NEWS, there was very little of THE NEWS in the final season and the final episode, for that matter.

I actually enjoyed the finale.  I guess I bit on the sentimentality of it.  But I didn't like this season at all other than the finale, especially not the penultimate episode, which was well beyond terrible.

Loved the finale. Just watched this season the past couple days.

I'm a sucker for this stuff, but the music scene in the garage was awesome and that was definitely Jeff Daniels singing... not too shabby. And who doesn't love a mean upright bass?

Anywho, the flash backs connecting the dots early on were really well done.
