Preseason Game 1: 8/13 vs. New Orleans

Get the starters in and out of there healthy is the 1st, 2nd and 3rd most important thing about preseason game 1 (and the whole preseason for that matter)
"Luxury items" or things that would be nice to see; not just for game 1 but these can apply to the whole preseason as well....
1) We've heard reports that Trestman is going to continue with Kubiak concepts in the running game, how is that going to look? Particularly with a healthy Monroe and a healthy Wagner, can the zone rushing attack pick up where we left off?
2) With Perriman and Brown out of practice with injuries, it may be a stretch to see them on the field next Thursday. Assuming they don't go, we'll get a long look at Butler, Aiken and some of the other young guys in the WR corps.
3) The kick return game is wide open. Can Campanaro get his health together to be a punt returner? Can Asa Jackson be a contributor in the return game? Is there a dark horse candidate that steps up to grab the job?
4) Interested in Z Smith and Courtney Upshaw. Will these guys be able to effectively spell Suggs/Doom so that we can keep their respective snap counts down and keep them fresh for 16 games? There have been some rumblings that the coaching staff thinks Upshaw can have a Pernell McPhee type season this year. He's been solid so far in his career but nothing to write home about.
5) I'm excited to see what the defensive line as a whole can bring to the table. Jernigan, Williams, Tyson, KLM, Urban, Carl Davis and even role players like Guy and Bilukidi. We've got a ton of youth, athleticism, speed and raw power on the DLine. If we can stay healthy, this has the chance to be a really special group.
6) Lastly, I'm anxious to see how the secondary shakes out. Can Smith build on what was looking like a Pro Bowl campaign in 2014 until it was derailed by injury? Does Webb have a bounce back year in him after showing some signs of life late in the season? The one good thing about last year's injuries is finding a potential player in Melvin. He definitely has the size you want in a corner but will he continue to grow as a player, improve his technique, etc, enough to be contributor as a nickel/dime back?
Then you have safety, which got a bit thin with Elam going down. It looks like Hill/Lewis are locked in as starters but does Brooks take a step forward in year 2 and provide a solid presence in certain packages? Are Levine and Trawick sufficient depth or does Ozzie need to make a move?

Agreed all around Prime... injuries the biggest concern, but there are other things to watch.

After this afternoon, this game can't start soon enough. I'd rather be debating Flacco's preseason difficulty in grasping Trestman's offense than....wait a minute....nix that. Aw hell. When is the first exhibition game for Terps BBall?

Sucks that Perriman isn't playing.

Only Ravens fan at the bar, and only the owner has been talking trash to me so far
Ask the owner if he remembers the Monday night game from last year?

The Ravens are 5-1 all time vs NO, have one more SB win in about 30 less years and took home a title on their home field despite their POS stadium losing power during the game.
You can remind him of these things, if you're so inclined. But it's only the pre season.

But NO is a way better city though, right?

Actually never been. NO Memphis and Austin are the three cities in the U.S. I most want to visit.

Oh Pedro, you need to plan a trip ASAP.
Thinking 2017. Terps play at Texas. Could also do a Memphis/NO trip to see the Wiz or Lakers if they play them in the same week.

I have a ton of friends who are Bills' fans. I've learned not to take this for granted.

I am a bit sad we're not seeing our new first rounder tonight.
