I never understood why the O's had used McCurry as a starter this year, when he seemed to be progressing well as solid lefty relief prospect this past season. The minor league staff must have felt he wasn't going to make it, or they would have kept him.

I agree I thought he should've been used as a lefty specialist but I guess they saw him as organizational filler.
