While we have old weather records, we don't have old records about all the atmospheric factors that you would need to make history-based predictions on.  So, we know if it snowed on Feb 13, 1912, but we don't know all the atmospheric stuff that was happening that led to that.  So, there's no way they could make predictions based on historical data because they don't have that for more than just a couple decades, and that's not nearly enough.

Not really. I think it's great when you get bent out of shape. It's Shacks redeeming quality. He can put you on tilt.

The funny thing is that, while I might poke at Rob on purpose once in a while (either because I'm annoyed or because I erroneously think he can take a joke), it mostly happens when I'm certainly not trying to do it, I'm just saying what I think, that's all...

When you get pissed, it's not like you become entertaining about it... you don't throw fits or anything... you just say you're pissed, that's all... I don't see much entertainment value in that...

Yeah, that was a good point by Branden. And I wasn't even hating that particular advanced stat, per se, just the component of it that projects team wins and fails every time with the Buck Birds.

When you get pissed, it's not like you become entertaining about it... you don't throw fits or anything... you just say you're pissed, that's all... I don't see much entertainment value in that...

Rob and me have met a few times and I think he knows I'm a very chill, easy going fella... so I can see where that can be kind of amusing when he sees someone with my demeanor get a bit worked up.

People can throw the slave to the computer line at Ricker for his love of KenPom and he can justly respond that he watches games and doesn't just go with KenPom. Same thing when he said people are slaves to the computer in this discussion, those "slaves to the computer" by and large watch games and don't just go with PECOTA.

I do agree with this.

The thought that people look at stats and don't watch baseball is moronic.

I can understand why people say it because of how people can hold onto the numbers so much but still, it's not a correct statement to make.

Btw...I'm just glad someone listened to the show...next week, I'm calling out someone!
