Yesterday I forgot to take it out of my pocket and it got sent through the washing machine. My wife came home and told her what happened. She out of morbid curiosity puts it on the charger.
Other than the screen being a little dim, IT STILL WORKS PERFECTLY!
Ive had phones that crap out if sweat seeps into my pant pocket. iPods can be submerged in a washing machine for an hour.

In many cases, if electronics are turned off, they generally can make it through the washer or getting wet. It's not the water that damages anything, it's the short-circuiting once you power it up due to the current traveling through the water. Dry it out thoroughly before turning it on and you're often ok. Certainly helps if the circuitry is simpler.
I've still got an old iPod as well, works awesome. I'm not a fan of the iPhones, or at least didn't like the 4 I had for work, but they really did change the game in terms of user friendliness for a lot of products.

Apple makes a hell of a product. I have an ipod that is around 5 years old. It gets used and abused. Workout with it, use it in the car, at work. It has taken a beating.

My friend has had 4 iPods completely trashed by the same method. You just got lucky.

Right... there's nothing special about iPods that can withstand getting wet... it's the short circuits, not the water...
The only Apple things I own are a couple of wheel iPods... I put SD cards in them instead of the HDD's, along with a bigger battery... and I put RockBox them to make them sound better... their classic wheel interface is hard to beat....

Drinking a double dead rise at flying dog brewery. It's so well blended I think it's amazing. All the old bay goes right to the nose
Cheers! I'm about 15 minutes from FD. They do an awesome tour IMO.

During my visit to MD I've had some of their Old Bay Summer Ale and can't even taste any type of Old Bay flavoring at all.
Lemme get two claps and a Ric Flair
