Trent Mummey is at Frederick.
Glynn Davis is at Delmarva.
John Ruettiger is at Delmarva.

From our October Q&A with Jim Callis, Baseball America:

Baltimore Sports and Life: “Baltimore native Glynn Davis was one of the younger players in the NY/Penn League, and was named as an All-Star for that league. He had 25 walks, and 23 steals, but also had 53 k’s, and was caught stealing 9 times. Would you expect him to make the jump to Delmarva next Spring?”

Callis: “I would. Davis ranked 15th on our NY-P Top 20 Prospects list and profiles as a classic leadoff man/center fielder. He’s the fastest player in the system. He’s definitely ready for low Class A, where he’ll focus on making more consistent contact.”

From our June Q&A with Kevin Goldstein, Baseball Prospectus:

Baltimore Sports and Life: “2010 4th round pick Trent Mummey missed a month of action, after crashing into a wall May 4th. Once back he played 5 games before suffering a hamstring injury putting him back on the DL. Before the initial injury, Mummey had earned a quick promotion from Delmarva to Frederick. Overall, Mummey has played in 29 combined games with the Shorebirds, and Keys, posting some interesting numbers: 113 ab’s, 11 xbh’s, 16 bb’s, 19 k’s, 19 steals. What will you be looking to see out of the 22 year old during the remainder of ‘11?”

Goldstein: “I like how you categorize the numbers of interesting, as that is what kind of prospect Mummey is. He should be putting up good numbers in A-ball as a polished college guy, so I don’t think we should up his projection from good 4th outfield type until he’s putting up these kind of numbers at the upper levels.”

I love Davis' upside. Tons of speed and potential to add power by adding 20 punds of muscle to his frame while maintaining a lot of his speed. Off to a nice start after 5 games hitting .316 with a few walks and four stolen bases.

He's impressed me this year. Still work to do, but I think it's been a strong season.
