It's so pathetic that so many ML's just cant run out plays. You can always control your effort.
The O's largely deserve credit for that, they run out plays much more than most other teams.

Correa wasnt loafing out of the box. He shut it down after he saw the pitcher caught it clean. Still has to make the throw and all but that particular decision to shut it down is common once a pitcher fields clean on a comebacker
It's common and it's weak. Run out the box. It's 90 damn feet.
Anyone that doesn't run hard all the time is a weak mf.

It was the final out of a game that basically eliminated them from the playoffs. If there was ever a time to run, that was it.

Exactly. You're only out on the field for 2 1/2 hours. Bust your ass for the fans, who can find other ways to spend their money. Total disrespect for the game and how it should be played.

It's one of the things I love about Gunnar. He's runs out grounders. I've seen it at times from Cowser too

It does seem like the kids up from AAA all run out ground balls so its probably emphasized at Norfolk. Good for them. Still a lot of standing around at the plate admiring fly balls, though.

Correa was absolutely loafing on that play.
That play is textbook on why you need to run hard.
The only time I'll give a player a bit of a pass is if he hits it to the first baseman and the first baseman is literally next to the bag.
As you stated, you can always put forth the effort.
It's their job to run out routine plays.
Being a prima Donna multi millionaire is not an excuse to walk down a baseline.

Those guys play hard.
I love it too.

Well, Correa obviously has some quit in him.

A 13-pitch opening at-bat for Povich. That's not a recipe for longevity.

Povich has come a long way. He looks in complete control out there now. I think we've found another starter for next year.
The only thing that makes me nervous about him is there's a small margin of error. He has to have pin point control and consistently get ahead of hitters. He won't get away with mistakes. But he has settled down nicely over his last several starts.
