Phillies have traded Gregory Soto to Baltimore, sources said. Righty starter Seth Johnson, who goes on the 40-man roster, is coming from Orioles as @kileymcd reported.

Great arm. Controlled for 1 more year. Johnson a good arm too though but maybe not all the way back after TJ. Love to hear Bobs take on Johnson this year

Soto got roughed up last night against the Yankees. He'll be better than Perez but that isn't saying much.

You just need him to be hot for what 10-15 innings. The stuff is good. Hyde needed another lefty. Can even close if strong lefties are due

I was just telling Ricker. IMO Scott isnt much if any better than Soto. Has an extra year of control and didnt cost a top 50 prospect and 2 other good prospects. These players who were are being propped as headliners arent special. Period. Overpays galore.

Johnson is still very talented but the command has been lacking in his first year back from TJ and next season is his last option year.

Gave up Moises Chace in the deal as well, rule 5 eligible. Electric arm but a few years away.
