How do I upload an appropriate size picture from my computer to a message board post?

The pictures are larger than the max size allowed, but when I use a program to shrink them down so they can be uploaded, they show up very small, like a thumbnail. Even in the post preview.

Or, can I assign a picture on my hard drive a URL, so I can upload it that way?

Thanks.

Sincerely,

Not good at computers

The best thing might be to upload them to a middleman site, like Flickr, or even Facebook. Then you can link to them.

Mike - where are you finding these pics that you want to upload in the first place? Are they pictures you're finding on the internet, and saving to your hard drive?

A follow-up question, which browser do you use? Internet Explorer, Firefox or Chrome?

I highly recommend imgur.com. No account needed, full album capabilities, etc. There's a reason it's reddit's preferred image hosting site. And there's a Chrome extension!

That works! I had imgur, but I thought it was just for taking screenshots on the internet. I feel dumb.
