Seems like better depth for the short part of a platoon than Valencia and some other guys in the organization. Solid depth pickup, IMO.

Was thinking this all day. He's good defensively, and if that is your UTL guy you are doing pretty well.

Maybe this move was in lieu to Danny Valencia being attached to that report about PED's coming down that also included "Mr. Clean" Ryan Braun. If Braun is found guilty, he should be suspended 100 games, and not the 50. Freakin' disgrace!

He should not serve 100 games...there are reasons why these things are negotiated and why samples need to be handled well. You simply cannot decide when to pick and choose the laws and rules that will be followed.

Also, Canzler...no platoon split in minors. 102 PA means little.

Yep..and you never know..maybe he can be a league average or better second baseman. It's not likely but it's always worth taking a shot on talent IMO.

This is the same scandal that is getting people to scream that Alex Rodriguez should be banned from baseball for life, then dragged out into the street and shot like dog. So looking for rational thinking is probably a fool's errand.
