To kick things off I thought it would be good to talk about which team is your favorite college lacrosse team and why?

As the first full team practices begin this week around the country for college lacrosse, I felt it was time to start the 2013 NCAA Lacrosse thread. Lacrosse is in the air folks, and this is the place to talk about news, scores, games, and players throughout the 2013 season. Starting next week, I will post a season preview here in this thread on each of the 6 local D1 teams.

D1 only? Don't hate on D3, Seagulls all the way!

Thought I'd pass this along.
If you build it they will come! More TV is good for the game IMO.
The game has made some rule changes now to cater to the fans new to watching the game.

A little off-topic... ESPN3 has really revolutionized college sports IMO. Just about every major sports game is televised in some form. Even Olympic sports such as lacrosse get more of their games featured. And the most obscure games, you can watch out-of-market.If you build it they will come! More TV is good for the game IMO.

Tom,
I'm a bit curious of your thoughts of the Big 10 move impact on MD lacrosse?

Of course!!
I thought no one would ask.
I like the D3 games a little bit more, they tend to be more up tempo high scoring games.

All three Maryland teams are gone already; only Loyola made a game of it (versus Duke).
I saw some of UM getting destroyed on their own field. Gruesome....

Ha ha. Yeah, SU has Stevenson in the semis this weekend. They lost to them at home, 10-8, back in early April. Not gonna be a cake walk.

I'm strongly considering going to watch this game now that Stevenson actually has a real stadium. My dad and I saw a Salisbury-Stevenson playoff game up there a few years back and it stunk b/c there wasn't enough seating and we had to stand along the sidelines. Couldn't see the entire field it was week.

Interesting. Yeah, I wish SU had some better seating conditions, too, but I don't know how often the stadium actually gets filled. Of course for War on the Shore/Homecoming football/Family Weekend football it's pretty much a lock, but when else? I'm glad they've prioritized academic facilities, but it would be nice to see Sea Gull Stadium get some upgrading - just not so much that it takes away from the intimate setting.
