Archbishop Spalding (Md.) three star athlete Jayon Venerable

Had offers from a couple other schools, including Virginia Tech where former Maryland WR Jafar Williams was recruiting him.

5-star Dual-Threat QB Caleb Williams (Washington, DC) is set to visit College Park tomorrow. Georgia, LSU, Oregon, and Penn State are the primary other teams involved in his recruitment, with the Bulldogs and Tigers in the lead.

I hope they take him to the Dairy, so that when he spends his years in State College he has something to compare their ice cream to.

Georgia just landed 5-star QB Brock Vandagriff, so LSU is likely the primary competition for Williams.

What's LSU got that the Terps don't!

4-star DT Taizse Johnson (Washington, DC) just committed to Maryland. He's currently ranked as the 2nd-best player in DC and the 13th-best DT in the country. He chose Maryland over offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Ohio State, among others. He'll project as a nose tackle in the Terps' 3-4 defensive scheme.

Unranked JuCo LB Gereme Spraggins committed to Maryland last night. He attended Arundel Senior High School but spent his last two years at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas. He chose Maryland over offers from Arkansas, Oklahoma State, South Carolina, and Tennessee, among others.

3-star DE ZionAngelo Shockley (Baltimore, MD) commits to Maryland. He chose the Terrapins over offers from Arizona State, Baylor, Nebraska, and Tennessee, among others.

3-star LB Antwain Littleton, Jr. (Washington, DC) commits to Maryland. He's a big dude at 265 pounds, but actually played some running back at St. John's College High School. He chose Maryland over offers from Louisville, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, and Tennessee, among others.

EDIT: Sounds like the Terps actually recruited Littleton as a running back, so they've added some serious beef to their backfield.

Locksley is doing well recruiting, in the DC Metro area, it would be nice to see him make inroads into the St. Frances football factory.

Locksley is doing well recruiting, in the DC Metro area, it would be nice to see him make inroads into the St. Frances football factory.

St. Frances is a little tough right now with Biff Poggi's penchant for pushing his players towards the blue-blood programs of the SEC and Big Ten. He's not necessarily anti-Maryland, but certainly doesn't want his kids going to "lesser" programs. It's one of the reasons Maryland had such a tough time recruiting Gilman players when he was there.

Unranked TE Joseph Bearns (Baltimore, MD) commits to Maryland. The Terps are currently his only collegiate offer, but he's the second St. Frances product in the 2021 class, which is a huge development for Locksley if he can continue this trend.

Locksley just snagged another massive recruit, as 4-star DE Demeioun Robinson commits to Maryland. He's a local product from Gaithersburg's Quince Orchard HS, and chose Maryland over offers from Alabama, Clemson, Florida, and Florida State, among others. He'll play the JACK linebacker/defensive end hybrid spot in Jon Hoke's 3-4 defensive scheme.

Demeioun Robinson's commitment bumps Maryland's class ranking to No. 7 nationally and No. 3 in the Big Ten. He's the program's sixth-highest rated recruit of all-time. Mike Locksley's starting to pile talent as expected. #Terps

One of Robinson's teammates, 4-star DT Marcus Bradley, is trending hard towards Maryland now. Breaking through at QO would be a major coup, something Maryland has never really been able to do. Adam McLean is one of their only recruits from there. While John Papuchis is no longer on the staff, have to assume this is his work coming to fruition.
