The 113th annual Army-Navy game will be played at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA this year on December 8th. I thought it'd be fun to discuss who you will be pulling for, and why. I know a lot of people have family ties to either the Army or the Navy.

As for football, Navy has had a great year. They currently sit at 7-4 coming into the rivalry game, and are headed to the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl on December 29th in San Francisco, CA. Army has not fared quite as well. Their record is 2-9, and they will not be headed to a bowl game this year.

As for me, I'll be pulling for Navy. My uncle is a retired Navy captain, and still holds strong ties to the Navy. So what's your story?

Don't really have ties to either -- both my late grandfathers served in WWII, but don't have any military connections since then -- I guess I pull slightly for Navy since they are closer. I've always enjoyed the game. There's really nothing like it, when they say you can throw out the records in rivalry records, this one is really true. It be nice if it wasn't so one-sided though in the Navy side as it has been recently. I really enjoy the end of the game when they come together, it's a great symbolism for this country. There are very few sports events that truly transcend sports, this is clearly one.

No score, middle of the 1st Quarter. Navy has sweet looking helmets for the game.

Navy scores first in second Quarter, using the triple offense. Copeland a 12 yard run. 7-0.
Staubach in the booth, excited by the score.

Interesting story on how Staubach considered going to Purdue instead of Navy. He would have been one year ahead of Bob Griese. Wonder how history would have changed had he gone there.

Army goes up 13-10 late in the 3rd. They have looked like the better team all day, and were it not for fumbles they'd probably be comfortably ahead.

Army fumbles again deep in Navy territory. Navy will win 11-straight in the series.

A mostly poorly played game, but still an exciting finish. Army really did outplay Navy today, but they were their own worst enemy. Three turnovers and a botched offensive series on 1st and 10 at the Navy 11 did them in. As a native Marylander I always root for Navy and am glad they one. But I feel worse for the Army players right now than I think I ever have.

The quality of play certainly does not come anywhere near matching a Alabama/Georgia game like we saw last week, but for pure emotions and effort you can not beat Army/Navy.
Felt real bad for the kids on the fumble exchange. they were 12 yards from breaking the streak.

Good Stuff, I went to the game a few years ago when it was here. If you get a chance go, there is nothing like the pre and post game stuff.

Heard a lot of people say this would be the year Army wins.

I would still like to go to this game one year.

The tweet seems to have vanished. Did they watch a few episodes of The Wire and change their minds?

EDIT: Nevermind, I found it....it was tweeted a couple days ago.

I wish this was due to the quality of football... but, alas, it looks like it's just more mindless military adulation....

Army-Navy is college football tradition as much as any bowl game or conference rivalry. This is different then the other stuff.

What game would you prefer they go to, keeping in mind Army-Navy is the only college game being played that week?

The Army-Navy game is always one of the most exciting of the season. They may not have great individual seasons, but when they play each other it's damn special. Truly one of those "put the records aside" kinds of games. This is their bowl game most of the time.

Navy's won 12 straight, nine by at least two TD and six by at least three. Army has scored seven or fewer points five times.

Usually if its exciting it's more because Navy is struggling than anything.
