As part of the ACC-Big Ten Challenge this season, Maryland will travel to Louisville, KY to face the struggling Cardinals on Tuesday night. Head coach Kenny Payne has yet to win a game as their head coach, as they currently hold a 0-6 (0-0 ACC) record. One-point losses to Bellarmine, Wright State, and Appalachian State were one thing, but they suffered three blowout defeats to Arkansas, Texas Tech, and Cincinnati as part of the Maui Invitational Tournament.

Senior guard El Ellis is their best player by a good bit, leading them with 17 points and 4 assists per game. As a team, they're averaging an atrocious 18 turnovers and just 8 assists per game. They're also shooting just 40% from the field, including 30% from beyond the arc.

Turge only won their B1G-ACC game since switching conferences once so Willard can tie that if they win this lol

ESPN announces that the Big Ten/ACC Challenge will end after this year, so time to go out with a bang!

ACC tired of getting embarrassed by a football conference?

Kind of a bummer but the super conferences have kind of killed the interest in the "challenge", for me at least.  Watching Boston College vs. Nebraska just feels nothing like an ACC/Big 10 game.

Primary reasoning is that ESPN was shut out of Big Ten media rights in the most recent negotiations. They’ll begin an ACC/SEC challenge next year.

Not until K is dead or we meet in the Sweet 16.  Even though he's not the coach anymore I think he'll use his remaining influence to make sure there isn't a Duke/Maryland game in the ACC/Big 10 challenge.  I think he's exactly that bitter about the Terps leaving the conference, and if it had started to fade it'll resurface as one of the original sins as we get closer to the elimination of the old conferences in favor of just a few super-conferences.

Agreed, it’s all him. It’s a shame. I’d love to let Scheyer know who their daddy is.

Only if they meet in the NCAA's.

Even the Big Ten/ACC Challenge is out of the question now.

K doesn't need to. ESPN is doing it for him.

That interview took place last Wednesday, but reading Willard's words it seems he already knew today's announcement was coming.

While this news sucks, I have more faith in Willard to find a suitable replacement on the OOC schedule going forward than I would have with Turgeon, who probably would already have a 10-game series with Bowie State on the schedule.

I really don't care about the ACC-B10 challenge or about playing Duke, but as long as the sanctimonious Coach K is still around, I  think the only way Maryland and Duke will play is in the NCAA's.

If you’re using a promo code/free bet, no. I think Louisville is that bad. If you’re using real money, I have no idea lol.

You been finding promo codes anywhere??

After some research IM staying away completely. Feels like a lot for a Power OCnference school on the road but apparently Louisville has been really bad

Just the initial free bets. DK gave me 8 free $25 bets. They also have these little promos within the app… $10 free NBA SGP, stuff like that.

I understand staying away. MD’s first true road game. Louisville as desperate as you can possibly be. Who knows. But they truly are horrendous. It’s not just the record, KenPom and other advanced metrics hate them too.

I’d take Louisville. Shrug.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Now OPS sucks.  Got it."

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Fanduel trying to tempt us by offering a boost. Maryland to win by 11 goes to +100.

MD needs to take it to them early, and make Louisville quit.
