I don't know what facts we'd use to support that, but don't let that stop anyone.

Even better is hypocritical irony of your comment.

Astros have had one of the worst (if not the worst) farm systems that last 4-5 years.  Elias?

That seems disingenuous. They’ve graduated a good number of highly productive talent that was acquired while he was there. They’ve also used some of it in trades to bolster a roster that’s reached the World Series 4 times in 6 years.

You're using a narrative that isn't true....because people want to believe that narrative.

Just go review the players from the 2012-2018 draft classes.  I've done it many times.  We can discuss it in any detail anyone wants.

I'm good with many of the things Elias has done in terms of player development, draft, etc.  It's not a continuation of some dramatic plan from Houston and it hasn't actually born fruit in Baltimore yet.  We'll see, there's certainly opportunity to prove merit and I've said many times I'm comfortable with the generic opportunity (baseline + whatever they can do) heading into 2023.

Guess that means we know what's in our future. Excuse me if I don't hold my breath.

I really don't care whether the Astro's are still benefitting from the work of Elias, what we need to learn is, can Elias make acquisitions, via trade or free agency that better the major league team,as we hopefully move to the contender status.

The past few years have been all about getting to this point, and answering this question. I think he has the right people in place, and the evaluation skills needed. So we'll find out if ownership will back his plans, or if he's forced to trade away his prospects for near FAs, work his 2-3 year window, then start the process all over again.

Forgive me for my lack of faith in ownership.
