I watched a short interview with him. He played baseball, basketball and tennis in high school. In his sophomore year, he committed to baseball. He graduated HS in 2018. That summer he went to several baseball camps, trying to get some attention as a ballplayer. He went to a community college in 2019, but he blew out his ACL and missed the whole season. 2020, he got 5 innings in, before everything shut down. He transferred to St Leo because his coach said he wasn't going to get many innings at Illinois State. His total pro career consists of 2 seasons at St Leo and one collegiate summer league. 

The good news is, he doesn't have a lot of mileage on his arm. The bad news is, he's probably an unrefined talent.     

Some blurbs:

Showalter is a bit of a data-darling featuring a low-release fastball with a good bit of hop, inducing a whole lot of whiffs. He works in a low-80s breaking ball with two-plane tilt and tight, consistent spin. Showalter has a good pitchers body and significant arm speed with athleticism. Plenty of projection here.

Retzbach is a big-bodied catcher with the ability to handle first base or left field in pro ball. He's got average power, though he is a below average athlete and runner. Believers will look at the exiit velocities, the positional versatility, and the walk rate and say there's a route to success here. He's likely a day three pick if selected.

You'd be hard-pressed to find a better fastball-curveball combo in this class than Firoved's. The heater is up to 95 with immense ride through the zone, north of 21" of IVB with regularity. It's a high-spin, high-whiffs weapon. The curveball has depth and sweep, thrown in the low 80s, up to 84 mph. The two pitches tunnel well and combined to induce a ton of swing and miss this season. Firoved is a reliever prospect with some command issues, though his intrinsic abilities should get him selected in the draft.

Young is revered for his actions on the dirt where he's comfortably an above average defender, though most believe his athleticism and twitch suggest a plus defender at the next level. The throwing arm also comfortably grades out above average, aided by his experience behind the plate as a prep. A switch-hitter, he's beginning to tap into game power at the plate, especially from left side. His batted-ball damage metrics rank among the best in the country. Young was a little banged up toward the latter half of the 2021 season. Fully healthy again in 2022, he figures to be one of the more intriguing hitters in the SEC, though admittedly there's some swing and miss and strikeout concerns here that need ironing out. To reach his first round ceiling, scouts want to see marked improvement in the bat-to-ball. Even if Young is only a 40 hitter with 50+ game power, that's an appealing profile to evaluators considering the pillars on defense.

Walters really exploded onto the scene in 2022 out of Miami's bullpen with wicked velo and an imposing breaking ball that's been hell on right handed hitters. Walters has been up to 98 this season and routinely rests in the mid-90s. He throws a lot of strikes and could move quickly in a bullpen role for the team who selects him.
