Following their worst loss of the season against Iowa, Maryland will travel to West Lafayette, IN for a Super Bowl Sunday matchup against #3 Purdue. The Boilermakers are also coming off of their worst loss of the year, an 82-58 shellacking by Michigan. Matt Painter's squad has been playing otherwise fantastic basketball, with a 21-4 (10-4) record and the best offense in the country.

Purdue is led by guard Jaden Ivey and 7'4" center Zach Edey, both sophomores who are candidates to win the Naismith Player of the Year award. Edey and senior forward Trevion Williams are monsters on the boards, and combine to average more than 15 rebounds per game. As a team, they're averaging 83 points scored per game while shooting 51% from the field and 41% from beyond the arc. Like most of the conference's best teams (with the exception of Illinois), the Boilermakers typically struggle on the defensive end.

So Purdue is coming in hungry after an embarrassing loss. Should be fun and definitely not at all embarrassing or anything.

Yep, I think we have this thing.  Or maybe not.  :-P

Vegas can’t make this # large enough

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Now OPS sucks.  Got it."

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

They should just release odds on whether or not Purdue hits triple digits.

When the '02 Champs get honored, they should just let them take the floor.

I’m an idiot and thought that was last night, so went to the game. But instead of that, I got to witness the most 3’s ever by a player at Xfinity, and the 2nd most ever points allowed in program history.

Ha. It was impressive tbh. We've talked about pace and offense in a new coach. Thats not to discredit defense or excuse lack of defensive effort. That said last night was pretty easy on the eyes from an offensive execution standpoint. Its easier than watching a typical 55-50 B10 game

Very true. We still had a good time.

Ayala is out for this game with a wrist injury. Green replaces him in the starting lineup.

Fatts pleading with the team to run an offense. Lot of standing around.

Good start though, I’ll take it.
