I thought there had been a discussion about this recently but after a search I haven't found anything.

Anyone have boards of their own? How can you post pictures? I will post some of my boards.

How good is everyone?

I am starting to learn the flat spin technique that I've seen a lot of good players use. Before now I'd thrown underhand by grabbing one of the corners. But people who throw flat, spinning bags get so many more bags in the hole and they're almost impossible to beat when they're on.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Love this game.

I can't get my pics posted.  Just got some new custom boards.  They are pretty sweet.

I think I'm pretty decent. I throw with a flat spin, but I'm not one of those 3 holes a turn guys. I mean I do sometimes, but not every turn like some guys seem to.

I use a high arc. Less chance for the bag to bounce or slide off.

Ive found the low, line drive is the best throw for me. Aim for the 6 inches from the front, let it either slide into the hole, or block the hole from your opponent. When I do the high flop, you have to basically land it in the hole because there is hardly anything bounce or slide.

I play softball with a guy who is literally a pro cornhole player, and was the #1 ranked player in the state. #2 now I think. Apparently they have sanctioned events, he has a card, I had no idea there was such a thing. He says he makes at least 3 of 4 bags in the hole each time, sometimes all 4.

Right. I say the same thing every time the Olympics come around. I convince myself that I could get good at Badminton. Or luge or something.

I wanted to make my own but was lazy and just asked for a set for my birthday. Victory Tailgate. A little pricey but very good quality if you want a team logo on it.

Love playing. bd9bb3cbfcde3e6a96c57a95aca406ea.jpg

For me Cornhole goes in the long list of things that others seem to really enjoy that I just don't get.  Right there with Subway, Dancing With the Stars, Harry Potter, and long list of other things.  Different strokes for different folks, I suppose.

I'll have to get some good pics of my Ravens/O's set to post.

Pretty much a staple at every cookout and summer party for me. Girlfriend and I are actually planning on having a cornhole tournament with family and friends soon. 3 sets of boards going at once.

Speaking of backyard games, anyone here ever play frisbeerski? Pretty unique, fun game.

If I had a working Sarcasm Detector, would it be going off?

I dont think so. Do tell.

Here's the basic idea...

Setup:

Two teams of two, much like cornhole, except you play on the same side as your partner.

Two 4' tall pvc pipes are placed in the ground about the same distance as cornhole boards would be, or probably a little further, or whatever. You can stick some sort of stake in the ground to slide the pvc pipe over to secure it, but what we usually do is sharpen down the bottom ends to wedge them in the ground.

An empty beer bottle should be balanced on top of each pvc pipe.

You also need a frisbee.

Rules:

Each team takes turns throwing the frisbee, with partners alternating throws every turn as if you were playing pool.

The object of the game is to knock off the opposing team's bottle. This can be achieved by either hitting the bottle directly, or by hitting the pvc pipe causing the bottle to fall.

The defending team is responsible for catching the thrown frisbee (within reason), as well as catching the beer bottle if it's knocked off by the throwing team.

A bottle knocked off is worth 2 points, a good* frisbee throw not caught is worth 1 point. Game is played until one team reaches a score of 21.

When defending, catching the frisbee and/or bottle before they hit the ground negates points. Blocking/reaching for the frisbee in front of the pole, or grabbing the bottle from the top of the pole before the frisbee hits/passes is forbidden, and should result in the corresponding points.

*A good frisbee throw should be pretty apparent, but generally speaking, if it's below the knees or out of arm's reach, it doesn't count against the defending team if not caught.

I hope this makes sense, as I'm more than a handful of beers deep at this point.
