It seems the early season theme is parity, as we've already seen a handful of ranked teams go down, and others like Duke barely survive.

Hopkins has fought back from a terrible start down 0-7, now has it tied at 10 in the 3rd. Both defenses struggling, Blue Jays need better play in goal right now.
For me, that hardest thing about watching lacrosse on TV is the amateur announcers who get too loud and too intense in response to not-much... good pro's don't do that...

They kept calling it "sudden victory", which sounds ridiculous...
Is that just these particular guys, or is somebody insisting they no longer call it "sudden death"?

Best game of the year so far, and possibly a championship preview. The Irish got the game winner after a controversial call by the ref gave them the ball back off a Syracuse shot that went out of bounds.
This game was a lacrosse fan's dream. Notre Dame's defense was playing lights out and negating Cuse's face off advantage, but about halfway through the 3rd Syracuse got on a run that cut ND's 9-4 lead down to two. Syracuse benefited from their own favorable call from the refs during this stretch.
The 4th quarter was back and forth with both teams trading goals. Syracuse tied it at 12 with about a minute left, and with just one second left on the clock, Notre Dame had a chance to win it with a great look from Kavanaugh to a wide open Wynn on the crease, but he couldn't handle the pass to get a shot off.
Credit to Doss in goal for the Irish coming up big when he needed to in OT.
Absolutely fantastic game.

Big game on Saturday night between the Terps and Hopkins at Byrd Stadium. As the new President of The Pride, we're doing everything possible to get as many people possible out under the lights to this game. We're going to be all over campus on Maryland Day promoting the game. Should be a great one!

I really like it... but the idea that it's called "The Rivalry Trophy" seems kinda naive... it's gonna wind up being called something else... just too soon to know exactly what...

A bronze crab would have been better... it'd get all funky looking over the years...
