If so, what are some of your favorite pieces in your collection?

Very light. Signed rookie cards from Ed Reed and Ray Lewis. A patch of turf from SB 47. Signed Machado rookie card. Signed Pujols 8 x 10. A few others.

Also have a signed sheet from the 2001 training camp with a ton of players. Rod Woodson, Ray Lewis, JO.

I've got some autographed baseballs from when I used to go to fan fest. Some might be worth something. Wieters. Tillman. But others not so much. Kevin Gregg.lol. But I do have a ball signed by Dallas Braden I got when I went to a game in St. Louis, Oakland was visiting. Only a handful of perfect games out there. I have a brick from Memorial Stadium and a Cal Ripken bat. Otherwise, most of my stuff is pictures.

I am so not a memorabilia/autograph person. Despite that I have held on to a couple things for many years that I always thought were kind of cool. The first is a game program from the 1983 World Series, that I bought when I went to Game 1. The second is Sugar Ray Leonard's autograph that my dad got for me during a training session that was open to the public right before his rematch with Roberto Duran (the "no mas" fight).

That's pretty cool.

I have a nice collection of a lot of things but I am getting into older stuff lately.

One thing I'm looking for is an authentic old metal sign. You see tons of reproductions but I would love to get my hands on some original ones.

I'd love a signed bat from Cal. Or a picture with Buck. I've mostly grown out of the autograph's/memorabilia thing.

One thing I had planned to do had the O's won the AL, was frame my playoff ticket stubs and the "We Won't Stop" towel as well as some pictures of my friends and me at the playoff games and newspaper articles. It's still hard to look at those damn World Series tickets I never got to use.

I've got a bunch of signed baseballs. Mussina, Ripken, Hank Aaron, Griffey Jr., Brady, McGwire, Markakis. Cal signed his book for me too.

I feel weird asking for autographs since I hit a certain age though, so I tend to avoid it unless I'm like AT a signing or something and it's expected. If I just run into someone, I never ask, I try to treat them like real people when they aren't on the clock so to speak. I've found they really appreciate it.

Yea, I'm the same way.

Pretty much all the autographed stuff I have is from when I was a kid or stuff my dad had. Have bought or been given some other things as I grew older but don't ask players anymore.

Did you ever hear the story of the guy who asked Palmer for an autograph while Jim was taking a piss and then he got angry at Palmer for not signing anything?

Ha. Hadn't heard that one, but doesn't surprise me, I've heard some similar. A lot of guys complain that they can't live anywhere half way populated because every time they go out someone has to get all inappropriate and ignorant hunting for an autograph. I won't sell out who it was, but I know one guy that happened to get a break in season and thought it would be a nice surprise for the kids to pick them up from school. The carpool line turned into a firing squad, and a shouting match happened because they couldn't understand that his kids were there and he just wanted to spend some time with them.

My favorite piece is the Sports Illustrated cover including both Peyton and Archie Manning in their college days.  I was at UT law school at the time, and Archie came to a signing in town when the Vols had a home game.  He signed the mag below his picture.  I never ever ran into Peyton walking around campus, but I read something in the school paper about him signing stuff that was sent to athletic department, so I took the risk of sending that magazine with his dad's auto already on it.  A few weeks later, I got it back with a personalized auto from Peyton.  Where I live, that magazine is worth a ton of money.

My other favorite is my Joe DiMaggio autograph.  Got that back in the mail about a year after I sent a replica card to him.  If you old guys remember the book that was in stores that showed ballplayers' addresses, that's how I got his address, and again I had read an article about him carrying around sacks of mail that he'd sign stuff for people who asked.  That was in the early 80s.

That's surprising. Joe D's autograph is worth good money because you don't see a lot of them out there.

I tell you, the one thing I need to do is get my 17 year old daughter recorded singing the national anthem and send it in to the Orioles for this season.  They have 81 home games, and she's a dynamite soprano, so surely they'd give her a game.

If so, if I could just wiggle my way onto the field with her and get my pic with Buck, my life would be complete.

And I can't say with 100 percent certainty he signed it, but I've compared it's characteristics with certifieds that I've seen, and I believe it to be his.  I've thought about sending it to an expert to certify it, but it's not like I'd ever sell it anyway.

My wife sang the anthem a few years back.

The girl who is in charge of it is the sister in law of one of my wife's close friends.

I can see if there is a more direct email address to send it to or if you just send it to the one they will list online. Let me know.

I have a bunch of autographed 8 x 10's, but they are currently at my my dad's place. I honestly don't even recall that many of them since it's been so long since they've been displayed. Willie Mays is one.

My dad has a signed Mickey Mantle card. We also have our tix from the first game ever at Oriole Park and 2131.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty
