I just bought tickets to my first Preakness. Sitting in the covered concourse section in case it rains. Going with 8 people, including 4 women so, yeah. They wont want to ruin their crowns. Otherwise I'd try to get as close as possible rain be damned.

Anyone have any advice, recommendations, etc?

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Just got an email about the closures of the old grandstand sections. At first was kinda pissed since I didn't want to lose cover or get broken up since there's 8 of us going so I called and was upgraded to the grandstand upper box for free. Basically a $150 upgrade. And it's inside so don't have to worry about rain or anything. Worked out kinda nicely.

2019 Preakness: Pimlico officials ban new items for race attendees

Peckish Preakness Stakes attendees should plan to eat ahead of the race this year if they wish to avoid lines at food stations.

Event officials have released an updated list of items that are strictly forbidden on Black-Eyed Susan and Preakness days at the Pimlico Race Course. Most noticeably, the list included a new ban on bringing outside food of any kind.

This has to be the last race at Pimlico right? They won’t repair the section they closed for one more day of racing next year will they?

Has anyone gone to Pimlico on Black Eyed Susan Friday? Is it crowded or can you go and park and bet like most other days at the track?

The optics of the tracks.

Churchill Downs is the Taj Mahal
Pimlico is the Oakland Coliseum. Can’t believe they still use it quite frankly. It’s not a charming old like Wrigley Field
