Headed there in a few weeks to see the Braves' new park.
Any and all recommendations are welcomed -- I'll be staying in the middle of down town.
Specifically looking for good places to grab a bite (I assume there is great BBQ down there) and good bar districts that are Pedro-style (not clubby).
Is the Coke museum worth it?
Thanks.
The aquarium is amazing. The zoo is pretty cool.
Coke museum wasn't good. Underground Atlanta is just a low-end mall. If one wants high end shopping, Atlanta has plenty.
I kind of liked the CNN tour, but not something you 'have to do.'
Saw the Rockwell collection at the High Museum... but that was more random.
Didn't get to the Civil War Museum, or MLK Birthplace...
Traveling on the MARTA is okay. Locals look down on it, but was pretty clean, and in a city not easy to maneuver was nice that some public transportation was available.
Give yourself plenty of time to get wherever... traffic is no joke, even for those of us used to horrible conditions in Baltimore / DC.
For someone going down for a longer stretch of time... a 2 hour drive north into Tennessee, and you can go whitewater rafting on the Ocoee River... that was fun... https://ocoeerafting.com/
There are lots of beer, and bbq festivals...
Here's an article on Atlanta Breweries:

From what I saw on my visits... Buckhead, Dunwoody, Alpharetta were the best places to be.... bar hop, great restaurants...
Atlanta truly has a million restaurants... seems like nothing stays long... still here's a recent ranking of their best:
