ESPN: Jazz PG Dante Exum injures knee playing for Australia

Exum was driving into the paint and came to a jump stop in the middle of the lane when his left knee buckled. He was untouched, but went down as he lifted for the shot.

The Jazz released a statement saying Exum was treated on site and will return to Salt Lake for further evaluation by the team's medical staff.

Utah better be holding its collective breath. Exum making a leap in his sophomore season is likely the last piece for the Jazz to become a playoff team.

UPDATE: ESPN now reporting it's a torn ACL. Terrible news for him and the Jazz.

I don't know where to put this, but I'm watching Utah/Phoenix on NBA Tv, and Dante Exum is KILLING IT!

Utah is going to be really good this year. Hopefully Hayward comes back soon.

Wish Australia had had Exum, and Simmons available in the Olympics... they were an interesting squad.. but needed that athleticism.

Australia and Canada should have good squads in 2020.

Re The Jazz: Definitely a shame about Hayward.

Gordon Hayward (broken left finger) will not require surgery.
That's welcome news but Hayward is still expected to miss 4-6 weeks, which could cost him a dozen or more games to begin the season. He has top-40 upside but should be targeted a few rounds later due to the unfortunate preseason injury. Oct 12 - 8:24 PM

I should note that Marcus Paige has 4 points and 3 assists in 10 minutes.
