Been working at my current job for 17 years, and had NEVER gotten a call from a client asking who we liked in the Women's NCAA title game...

today, we got over 50 requests for a pick in the Notre Dame/Connecticut game. Clearly there is some hype about it..I took UCONN -7.5..hopefully it covers. Really weird.

UCONN women dominate.

Men's and women's teams win title. Impressive.

Know Notre Dame had suffered a major injury prior to the Final 4, but UConn beating them by 21 is still impressive.

The UConn women dominate their sport more than any other major sport (yes, I'm counting D-1 wbb a major sport for purposes of this exercise), which I don't think is a good thing. It looks like all their wins were by double digits and many were pretty lopsided (http://www.uconnhusk...skbl-sched.html).

@AustinKarp ESPN got 3.1 overnight for UConn's blowout win over Notre Dame in women's hoops finale last night. Still best for title game since 2004

Which was the last time Both UCONN men and women won...

Clearly ESPN Loves Connecticut and hates every other team.

I saw that card being played, the Bristol connection -- why wasn't Maryland getting respect (after the way they played, it's hard to say ESPN should've focused more on them? Stanford after all wasn't getting much attention and they have had much more success over the year than the Lady Terps. It has more to do with the fact they're a recognized brand and there's very few of them in the women's game than the fact UConn is located in the home state of ESPN. Does it help, sure. When Tennessee was relevant in the 90s with Pat Summitt, the focus was on them. There's basically two big brands in the women's game.

Good luck with that. I'm always glad when we venture into unchartered territory on BSL from NASCAR to horse racing to basically anything that doesn't have to do with politics/religion.

@Ourand_SBJ The top-rated sport on cable last week was the UConn-Notre Dame NCAA women's basketball championship on ESPN (4.3M viewers).

In our world of "Everyone must always find something to complain about", it's not that surprising.

In the unofficial Orioles FB group on Saturday, someone was complaining about them "over-celebrating" for a regular season winner. Yeah I'd rather be lamenting a loss.

It's just the world we live in right now...
