You can do a lot of nitpicking here with every arena being ranked.

Im my not so expert opinion...The Palestra has to be number one. It still has windows so natural sunlight shines in during day games, and the players sit on the front row of the bleachers.

I'm hardly an expert either, I can probably count on one hand how many of those buildings I've been to. I think a lot of places can claim to be numero uno. I have a hard time putting a pro arena so high on the list as is the case with Memphis. I think what's hard about these lists particularly in college is to separate the history of the building(what happened on the court) from the structure itself. And no matter how much you try to divorce the former from the latter, I think it's very tough to do.

I'd love to see a game at the Palestra, no doubt that should've been higher and I like the feature of the the team being in the first row like you mentioned. I wonder where Cole would've ranked?

The Palestra was/is really cool. I'll agree.

I like the Dean Dome, for obvious reasons, but it's a very cool place.. There's a little museum type thing downstairs that's open to anyone, and it's neat to see all the jerseys hanging in the rafters. A TON of history there.

The Tar Heel crowd isn't the rowdiest, it's not the loudest building on the list (Sam Cassell famously called them a "wine and cheese crowd" when he was at Florida State), but it's a very cool place to watch a game.

I just went in and checked one of the actual review/ratings (for #15, which I highlighted and might be the strangest ranking on the list). One of the rating areas is "extras" and a big portion of that particular rating for that arena was the free (and fairly generic-sounding) programs.

I have a feeling that this wasn't done in a particularly unbiased manner.

I've never been there, but it's hard to understand why Pauley Pavilion is only #60. Especially since it recently had a renovation that seems to have gotten good reviews.
