Craving one right now, Philly style.

Anywhere in the area that can at least pass for one?

I worked at Bogies Hoagies in Linthicum during Summer and Winter breaks when I was in school, they made a pretty good cheesesteak.  Sadly the store is now a Dunkin Donuts so this post doesn't help you out much.   Unless you have access to a time machine...

Jersey Mike's isn't bad. The crazy fresh bread makes it, but it's not a typical dripping grease cheesesteak if that's what you are after.

There's a place in DC that makes awesome Philly sandwiches. Taylor. But I know of none in Baltimore. Take a trip man, it's only an hour and change.

For people in the Harrisburg, PA area, Philadelphia Steaks & Hoagies at 4401 Carlisle Pike in Camp Hill has cheesesteaks that are as good as what you get in Philly.

It's the bread that makes the cheesesteak though.

And the cheese whiz.

For the record, and this will piss people off, but I generally hate cheese, so on my "cheese"steaks I get meat, mushrooms and load it up with ketchup :-)

You're right. I am outraged!!!

But seriously, it kinda ceases to be a cheesesteak when there's no cheese.

Yea but when you call it a "steak sub" or whatever, people give you the queer eye.

Seriously, my aversion to cheese has been met with some disdain over  the years.  The folks at Subway look at you like you're a leper when you tell them you don't want cheese on your sandwich.

It's not a Philly style, but Ledo's Steak & Cheese sub is definitely severely underrated, IMO.

I'd prefer some nice provolone, along with lettuce, tomato and some mayo, but if that were served me I would be perfectly happy. It's basically what I used to get at the sub shop across the street from where I used to live. I still miss it.

TJs Steak Sub's on the corner of Nursery and B&A is a good spot too. Capri's bread is money.
