CNN8 of the world's great coffee cities

Any favorite coffee cities? -- I've been to the original Starbucks at Pike Place and Rome. I can't say I recall indulging in the coffee there. I'm not the biggest coffee connoisseur, but this was a fun little list.

And just for fun...

Anyone ever tried Kopi Luwak? My dad is a big coffee guy, thinking of getting him some for Father's Day.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Dunkin Donuts. Lol.

I used to love dunkin' until I started drinking it black. It's pretty nasty without all the good stuff in there, but with the good stuff, it's the best. I'm a Starbucks guy. But for 6 weeks now, I've been coffee free. I'm sleeping better, and I'm much more even keel throughout the day and don't feel the need to nap at 2:30 anymore.

The first 10 days or so quitting coffee (cold turkey) was the absolute worst. Just awful.

I do love DD but like Ricker said, only with the fixin's. In the surprisingly great coffee department: Taco Bell.

Royal Farms is good. Chik-Fil-A is the worst. Starbucks tastes burnt.

DD is my favorite. Wawa is a close second.

Cafe Pronto in Annapolis and Bean Hollow in EC are my top 2 places to get coffee.

I hear ya. I miss it. But it was really messing with my sleep quite a bit. And I had gotten so dependent on it that I'd need to drink quite a lot of it for it to do the trick. Add acid reflux to the mix, and it just had to go away. It sucks.

I've found that not all Starbucks are created equal.

I'm like that with soda, I love Cherry Coke (it's in my Twitter bio). I haven't gone quite as long as you without soda, but I don't find too much difference on the days I drink it versus not drink it in terms of sleep schedule. Now if I went weeks without soda, it might be different and I do use it a lot as a stimulant. I still go to bed every night around ~2, maybe a little later on the weekends since I don't have to force myself to go to sleep.

I don't like cheap coffee, I like Starbucks and high quality stuff, but I don't feel spending $4-5 for a cup of coffee most of the time.

7-11 coffee is pretty good. They had a Guatemala coffee recently that I only had once but it was delicious.

La Columbe if you guys can find it. I've seen it in NY and Philly. I don't drink it often anymore but Cafe du Monde in a French press with a lot of milk is my favorite.

Cold press coffee seems to be the trendy thing going on right now. Skeptically tried it last night for the first time...because when hot coffee gets cold it's terrible.

But Damn. That cold press coffee is dangerous. So naturally sweet, not bitter. Dangerous because I could chug it like water of I wanted too. That smooth.

Cold brew is good stuff. And really strong, lower acidic levels.

I got it down pretty good after a couple attempts. Just couldn't get into it like regular brew. Tastes so different. And the caffeine buzz felt different too. The significantly lower acidic levels is the huge benny though.

Still love me some coffee, but I am trying to cutback my daily intake just a little bit.

Yeah I do one cup a day.

Had two yesterday, but that's rare.

Cold brew gives me the jitters. I am also not the biggest fan of it and I live in Tampa where it is much needed most days. Haha! I prefer a great single-origin espresso or cup where the green beans are highly-graded and roasted by a good roaster. Heart, Tim Wendelboe, Sweet Bloom, and 49th Parallel are some of current favorites.
