Didn't see this anywhere:

The Orioles have designated Brad Bergesen for assignment, reports Dan Connolly of The Baltimore Sun (on Twitter). The move clears a 40-man roster spot for Bill Hall, who was called up from Triple-A.

Bergesen, 26, had pitched to a 5.13 ERA with 4.6 K/9 and 3.5 BB/9 for the team's Triple-A affiliate this season. He's made 59 starts and 24 relief appearances for the Orioles over the last three seasons and owns a 4.68 ERA in 394 1/3 career innings. Bergesen appears to be a candidate for a waiver claim given his age, flexibility, and the fact that he has a minor league option remaining.

He was always going to have his limitations, but you have to wonder if things would have been different for him without the leg injury, and the problems resulting from the MASN commercial.

If he has a minor league option remaining, why didn't the Orioles just send him down? Or are they thinking it's time for him to go and they're going to try and see if they can get someone for him?

They were creating room on the 40 man roster, to add Hall to the active 25 man roster. Bergesen was already in the minors.

I'm not sure how much that commercial shoot had to do with it. But watching him hobble after getting hit by that liner was tough, maybe he never truly recovered from that, I don't know? As Chris said he was going to have his limitations to begin with. I thought until recently, he could still be a long-man in the 'pen and spot starter.

It's definitely sad to see it come to this with Bergy, but it's not surprising either. He gave us some great performances when he was on.

Yep, I agree. He was a lot of fun to watch. Worked super quick, through strikes..was my girlfriend's favorite pitcher because it got the game over quicker! He never performed how I thought: when he came up, he was way better than I expected and then afterwards never as good as I expected.

Watching him get off the field when he took that liner was painful. I think I'll vividly remember that forever.

Per MLBTR, Bergy is getting the call up.

Honestly, I thought we had seen that last of him.

Does that put our desperation level at Def Con 4 or Def Con 5?

Why not?

Can't be much worse than Tillman was last night.
I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

In fairness, Reynolds should have gotten him out of that inning with only 1 run on the board. I thought his stuff actually looked decent.

That's not very good reasoning. I don't expect Tillman to be a great starter, or even to be someone we can count on for next season, but he's not going to get knocked out in the first inning very often. He's vastly superior to Bergesen, who is abysmal, IMO. I'd rather see Hunter back up here than Bergesen.

Me too. He's certainly not the guy he as in 09 anymore. Hard to be incredibly optimistic about what we'll get out of him, but here's hoping.
